British Defense Secretary should get a life!

Ah, simple minded people give me the giggles. So Britain’s Defense Secretary, Mr. Liam Fox, is out and about making sure Great Britain’s retailers don’t sell EA’s latest version of Medal of Honor due out this October. According to BBC news he says he’s “disgusted” by the game which allows players to choose the Taliban as a team within the game; particularly in multiplayer. Well, there’s an idea, a video game based upon modern combat that not only lets you play as the good guys but as the bad guys as well? Holy shit, what a concept!

Seriously guy? What, are British kids are going to pick up this game play as the Taliban and then convert to the dark side? Oh noes! Some people really need to get with the program. He goes on to say that the game is “thoroughly un-British” and that is “hard to believe any citizen of our country would buy it” yadda yadda yadda. Tell you what, the world is in disarray because of idiots like you. All we need now is more people jumping on the bandwagon again that games are horrible outlet devices and that kids should be limited to reading (which can be just as bad!) and say watching the opera. Put me in a opera hall for anything more 5 minutes and watch me go jillalabhad all over your ass Mr. Defense Secretary. I would say stick to what you know but at this point its debatable. Anyone that has as little insight as this prick shouldn’t be allowed to speak period.

So because we’ll be allowed to play as the Taliban the game should be banned….ok. So what about all the other games, lets say, Command & Conquer which stars BRITISH ACTORS and involves BRITISH COMMANDERS, and involves alliances with BRITISH FORCES where one gets to play as or against the Soviets? That’s ok because their not around? Oh but “at the hands of the Taliban children have lost fathers and wives have lost husbands…” and the Soviets were saints? Fuck it lets go a little further, in Counterstrike you get to play as “Terrorist.” Oh snap! Lets ban that too!

What you need to do is stop talking, perhaps play the game (hey you may learn a tactic or too) and let kids enjoy their modern-day entertainment. I think you could use some yourself, I’ll toss a few quid your way if you like. No but seriously the best part is that your government itself knows your an idiot, they were quoted as saying “Dr Fox was expressing a “personal view”. I Love it!
